PRINCIPALS NAMED TO
NEW POSITIONS

Three administrators have been named to new positions in Williamson County Schools.  Dr. Mike Looney announced the moves to the School Board during its regular monthly meeting January 19.

Paula Pulliam

Heritage Middle Principal Paula Pulliam has been named principal of Spring Station Middle.  Looney said that Pulliam was a natural choice for Spring Station.

“Paula is a member of the community, and she has the experience of opening and leading Heritage Middle School over the past 10 years,” said Looney.  “Her leadership will ensure that Spring Station will be a school of excellence.”

Pulliam has worked in Williamson County Schools for the past 16 years.  She opened Heritage Middle in January 2000.

“The south end of the county from College Grove into Hillsboro is a wonderful place to live with fabulous parents and talented students,” said Pulliam.  “We will be blessed with the support of these communities to mold Spring Station Middle School into yet another outstanding school focusing the middle school child on learning for life success.”

Dr. Melonye Lowe

The new elementary school in the Southern part of the county has a named leader who also has 16 years of experience in the district.  College Grove Principal Dr. Melonye Lowe has been selected to open Allendale Elementary.

“Melonye has experience in schools from as small as Pinewood to as large as Kenrose and Oak View,” said Looney.  “That knowledge base coupled with her strong leadership skills will make for a smooth opening, and success in the long-run, at Allendale.”

Lowe said that she is sad to be leaving College Grove but looking forward to the new opportunity that awaits.  “The staff and parents of College Grove are committed to providing a quality education for the students and it has been my pleasure to work with them,” said Lowe.  “Establishing a new school is exciting and I can hardly wait to get started on the journey of building another school that the Spring Hill community will be proud of and that will prepare students for a lifetime of learning.  I look forward to getting to know the students, their parents and the teachers at Allendale.”

Ryan Harris

Edmondson Elementary Assistant Principal Ryan Harris has been named principal of Nolensville Elementary.  Harris replaces Beth Ferguson who was earlier named to open Pearre Creek Elementary.

Harris began his career in education in 2002.  He has taught at Winstead Elementary and Page Middle schools, and he has most recently served as assistant principal at Edmondson Elementary for the past two-and-a-half years.

“Ryan is one of the district’s rising stars,” said Looney.  “He has proven himself as an educational leader in a short period of time, and I believe he will continue to carry on and build upon the strong tradition of excellence in place at Nolensville Elementary.”

Harris said that he can hardly wait to get started.  “I am so excited to be joining the Nolensville community as principal of an amazing elementary school,” said Harris.  “I am eager to partner with the teachers, students, parents and community to continue the incredible work that has been taking place.  I look forward to working with such an excellent staff and to build upon the solid foundation that exists at Nolensville Elementary.“

Pulliam and Lowe will begin their new responsibilities after their current positions are filled.  Harris will begin at Nolensville no later than February 1.
