How did we get our name?
Allendale Elementary School is named for Mrs. Violet Allen, Williamson County’s first Special Education Coordinator.  Mrs. Allen’s family owned and farmed the property where the school now sits. She and her son continue to live adjacent to the school
property.  Mrs. Allen started with Williamson County Schools as a Speech and Hearing teacher in August 1965. She was named
as supervisor in special education in 1975 and then retired in the spring of 1986 with 36 years of educational service — 21 years
in WCS and 15 years elsewhere. We are proud to continue Mrs. Allen’s heritage of meeting the needs of all students.

Before/After School Care
Allendale's before and after school care program is the Williamson County Schools SACC (School Age Child Care) Program. While
school is in session, SACC
offers childcare services in the building starting at 6:20 am and after school until 6:00 PM. This
stimulating program provides multiple
activity and fun centers for its participants. For more information, contact the Allendale
SACC site director Kristi Carr at 472-5149 or kristi.carre@wcs.edu

Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parents receive progress reports during each nine weeks grading period with Report Cards issued at the end of the nine weeks.
Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled by each grade level during each semester of the school year and additional times as
individual conferences are needed. Ongoing parent-teacher communications is encouraged.

Parent Support Organization
The parent support group for our school is Parent Teacher Organization. Allendale's PTO provides the parents with many
opportunities to assist the school either by volunteering time to support school activities or supporting various fund raising
activities that help fund technology additions, special teachers and various other school needs.

Library/Media Center
The Library/Media Center is staffed by a full time library media specialist and a library assistant. The Media Center is centrally
located within the school and houses the print and non-print collection that supplements and enriches the academic curriculum.
Twelve student computer terminals provide access to the Internet, online encyclopedias, Follett OPAC, etc. The Media Center
continually promotes the enjoyment of literature and the use of informational skills through various programs and activities.

Special Education Services
Allendale Elementary has four special education teachers with assistants, a Learning Lab serving all students, a
