Project Graduation becomes a reality each year only with the support of contributors in our community. With grateful appreciation, the FHS Parent Association recognizes these businesses and families for their generosity to the Class of 2011.  Click here to see a complete list of sponsors.

What is Project Graduation?

Project Graduation is an all-night celebration including games, activities, food, entertainment, music, and prize giveaways.

This parent-supervised event begins at 10:30pm the night of graduation and ends at

approximately 5:00am the next morning.   Nearly 100% of the graduating class attends this inclusive FHS tradition each year.

No alcohol or drugs are allowed at this lock-in activity.  Any student deciding to leave will not be re-admitted and his/her parents will be notified.  Security and many parent volunteers will be on-site to ensure an enjoyable, safe night for every FHS senior.

Why Project Graduation?

Graduation night is one of the most dangerous times in a teen’s high school life.  Project Graduation began at Franklin High School in 2005 by concerned parents who wanted to offer FHS seniors a safe way to celebrate graduation.

Patterned after a nation-wide movement established by MADD (Mother’s Against Drunk Driving), Project Graduation is a drug and alcohol free celebration held at FHS each May following commencement.

Project Graduation eliminates separate graduation night parties located around the community.  This helps to protect our new FHS grads at the time they’re most at risk of becoming drunk driving victims.

Project Graduation is planned, supported, and supervised by parent volunteers with guidance from the FHS Parent Association.

What are the prizes?

The prizes encourage attendance and generate excitement at the celebration!  Each year, there are loads of prize give-aways, such as laptops, gaming systems, store gift cards, items for dorm or apartment living, and cash.

While the students love to win the prizes, the most important gift seniors will receive is the opportunity to celebrate the long-awaited milestone of their high school graduation together.

How is Project Graduation funded?

Project Graduation becomes a reality each year only with the backing of generous contributors in the FHS community.  Funds are raised from parent support, donations from local businesses, and corporate sponsorships.

What is Senior Recognition?

The FHS Senior Recognition program honors all seniors multiple times during the school year and with a personalized “FHS Senior” yard sign in the spring.  A portion of the financial donation discussed below funds this program.

How can FHS parents help?

The success of Project Graduation completely depends on FHS parent participation.

Contribute your time and talents:

·   Serve on a committee (decorations, food, entertainment, fundraising, etc.)

·   Work a shift the night of the event

·   Encourage your senior to attend Project Graduation.  Many new grads express

how much fun they had creating one last memory together as a class.

·   Ask your employer for a merchandise, cash, or service donation (business sponsorships available!)

Contribute your financial support:

·   Be a customer at a Project Graduation fundraising event held this school year.  Watch for

information regarding events in the Parent Association’s “Daily Announcements” emails.

·   Provide a prize (a store gift card or merchandise of interest to a new grad)

·   Provide a donation. Only with your support will Project Graduation and Senior Recognition become a reality.  Every FHS senior family is asked to make a one time donation of $100.  If this amount is not feasible for your budget, any contribution you can give in honor of your senior is appreciated.  Or, if your family is able to do so, your  additional generosity is greatly welcomed!
