The new school year is right around the corner and our incoming Class of 2016 will make history. This fall all Williamson County Schools will be certified for B.Y.O.T. or “Bring Your Own Technology.” This means students will now have the capability of using smartphones & personal laptops throughout their school day. With this new power comes new responsibilities, and RHS wants to make sure our next generation of students is ready for this exciting opportunity through our brand new Ravenwood SummiTech Program. Together, we can harness technology to help create an environment in which students communicate, collaborate, and create as a part of their daily learning experiences.
The RHS SummiTech Program is a free half-day seminar that introduces incoming freshmen to the new opportunities and responsibilities that come with B.Y.O.T. Students will get to meet RHS teachers and get their questions answered directly by RHS staff, putting them in the driver’s seat for the upcoming school year. Seminar classes include:
|Basic Stuff||Mr. Wilson||BYOT software|
|Work Stuff||Mr. Pate||Google docs 101|
|Talking Stuff||Mr. Bilbo||Digital communication|
|Social Stuff||Ms. Dykes||Your digital footprint|
|Dates:||July 9, 10, 16, or 17|
|Time:||8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.|
|Place:||Ravenwood High School|
