A current
PHYSICAL/PARENTAL CONSENT FORM is required of all students prior to any athletic tryout.  A signed CONCUSSION INFORMATION form is also required to be on file.
A copy of the completed physical and concussion forms should be submitted to Woodland's front office.  Physicals are good for one calendar year.

Ravenwood Wrestling Club APEX & Summer Practices

Great season to all our guys this year!
 Congrats to Cameron Miles (82 lbs) and Jase Smith (158 lbs) for winning the county championship in their weight classes, and also to Alec Fernandez (175 lbs) for finishing third; Woodland finished 7th overall as a team.

Practices are Monday through Friday (3:00-5:00).
Parents may pick up behind the gym no later than 5:15.

Wrestlers will need wrestling shoes, a head gear and a mouthpiece if they have braces.

The varsity wrestling team will be determined by a weekly intersquad wrestling match; the coaches will try to get everyone a match at meets depending the number of wrestlers the opposing teams have as well.

Wrestling is a tough sport and requires a lot of conditioning.  Since wrestling season will officially begin the first week in October and we will only have a short time to prepare for our first match it is important for the wrestlers to begin conditioning before the season begins.  To help you prepare for the season you should follow a conditioning program during the off season.  It is suggested that you begin the program at the beginning of the summer and continue it until the first day of practice so that you will be ready when the season begins.  You can click on the following links to find the prescribed off season workout and stretches.  This will help you be prepared once the season starts, and we will be able to quickly begin working on technique.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at larryr@wcs.edu.
